Abstract
The development of nanotools for plant disease diagnosis, nutritional absorption, biotic, and abiotic stress tolerance showed their potential to revolutionize the agriculture sector. Nanomaterials are being used increasingly in agriculture that hopes to reduce our dependence on pesticides and fertilizers while improving yields through the reduction in nutrient losses by increasing agricultural products and improving soil quality. Biosensors are being developed to assess for the presence of phytopathogens, biotic, and abiotic stressors for their timely remediation without affecting crop yield. Nanofertilizers were developed for enhanced biosorption with minimum side effects for better agricultural yield. Despite the vast potential of nanomaterials in the agricultural sector, numbers of bottlenecks are limiting their broader application. Like, nanomaterials must meet the demands of novel structural materials by reducing energy usage, reducing life-cycle costs, decreasing fuel consumption and running costs, and increasing the vehicle's capacity as well as comfort. However, while nanomaterials provide new avenues for precise and sustainable agriculture, it is essential to scrutinize their limitations before market applications.
